Certified Relationship Coach

Helping People Build Stronger, Healthier Relationships
Relationships have always fascinated me.
Long before becoming a Certified Relationship Coach, I was drawn to understanding why people connect, why they struggle, and what helps them create lasting, meaningful relationships. My academic background is in Psychology and Social Work, but it was my own personal experiences, continued education, and years of studying relationship dynamics that ultimately led me to relationship coaching.
As a Certified Relationship Coach, I provide a judgment-free, agenda-free space where couples feel safe to be honest, vulnerable, and truly heard.

My Background
I earned my degree in Psychology and within three years of graduating, I was married, had two children, with a third soon to follow. Today, my husband and I have shared over 40 years of marriage, giving me firsthand experience with the joys, challenges, and complexities of long-term relationships.
Like many couples, we’ve faced career changes, raising children, family loss, addiction in our extended family, and seasons of disconnection. During one difficult chapter, I sought professional help and discovered that many counselors receive limited specialized training in couples work. That realization inspired me to deepen my own knowledge.
Over the next four years, I immersed myself in studying healthy relationships through books, online courses, webinars, podcasts, and specialized training. I became a Certified Relationship Coach and earned certifications in the Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy. Everything I learned transformed not only my understanding of relationships but also my own marriage. It gave me the clarity, tools, and hope I had been searching for, and inspired me to help others experience the same transformation.
Today, I help couples move beyond conflict, disconnection, and resentment to build healthier communication, deeper intimacy, and lasting partnership. I believe every relationship has the potential to heal and grow when both partners are equipped with the right tools, guidance, and support.
My mission is to help couples strengthen their connection, grow as individuals and partners, and create the thriving relationship they both deserve.

My Approach
As a Certified Relationship Coach through the Center for Thriving Relationships, I have completed certifications in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) Levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as Gottman Method Level 1 training.
My coaching style is compassionate, direct, and solution focused. Rather than spending months revisiting the past without a clear path forward, coaching focuses on helping you understand what’s happening now and what you can do differently moving forward.
In our sessions, you’ll find a judgment-free environment where we focus on behaviors and patterns, not blame or criticism. Whether you’re working through communication challenges, rebuilding trust after betrayal, navigating life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from your partner, our work together is centered on practical growth and lasting change.
The Principles of Respectful Living
Much of my work is influenced by the teachings of relationship expert Terry Real and the principles of Relational Life Therapy. At the heart of this approach is the belief that healthy relationships require both compassion and accountability.
Three key concepts guide this work:

Choosing Respect Over Contempt
When conflict arises, it’s easy to fall into criticism, defensiveness, or withdrawal. Respectful Living teaches us to step away from behaviors that damage connection and instead communicate with honesty, dignity, and respect, even during difficult conversations.

Responding as Your Best Self
We all have moments when old wounds, fears, or frustrations take over. Learning to pause, regulate emotions, and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively allows us to create healthier interactions and stronger relationships.

Managing Yourself Instead of Controlling Others
One of the most powerful relationship lessons is realizing that we cannot change another person. We can only change how we show up. By taking responsibility for our own behaviors, reactions, and emotional well-being, we create the conditions for healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Why I Do This Work
I genuinely believe that many relationships can be strengthened when people are given the right tools and support.
Too often, couples wait until resentment has built for years before seeking help. Others enter relationships without ever learning essential skills like healthy communication, conflict repair, emotional regulation, or setting expectations.
Helping people understand themselves, reconnect with their partners, and create stronger relationships is work that I find deeply meaningful. Whether I’m working with a couple trying to rebuild trust, preparing partners for marriage, or helping an individual create positive change in their own life, my goal is always the same:
To help people build relationships that feel more connected, more respectful, and more fulfilling.
